16 year old students have to drive a minimum of 6 hours in order to receive their learner's permit.
How much does it cost for the six hours of driving instruction?
The current fee for the six hours of driving instruction is $495 and $10 for the permit. Keep in mind this fee is always subject to change.

How Do I Register for the driving lessons?
The first step of the process is scheduling an office appointment and bringing in the required documentation and payment to our office in Berkeley Heights.
What documentation/
information is required in order to register for the driving lessons?
Birth certificate, passport, or green card (no photocopies); photocopy of social security card, e-mail printout of written test receipt, check or cash for payment.
Where is your office located?
Our office location is 441 Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights; above the Citizens Bank. You park in the bank parking lot.
Do you offer a road test service?
Yes. Many of our behind the wheel students hire us for this service. Keep in mind this service is not included with the 6 hours of driving instruction. It is a separate service which incurs a fee.
Is it a good idea to use your driving school car for the road test?
Yes.yes.and yes. Many parents hire us for the road test service and the passing rate each and every year is in the high 90's percentage wise. We take great pride in our high passing rate.
What is the fee for the road test service?
There are currently two options for the student to choose from.
Option A.) $200 for review lesson and using our vehicle for the road test.
Option B.) $275 for review lesson, using our vehicle for the road test and photo license processing after the road test. This means our instructor will wait with the student while the photo license is processed. The $200 option does not include this feature.
What type of car is acceptable for the road test? Don’t some vehicles get rejected?
The car being used for the road test cannot have any obstruction (center console) between the road test examiner and the student unless the emergency brake is centrally located as well. The road test examiner must be able to stop the vehicle from the passenger's side. So a vehicle with a center console and foot pedal emergency brake will be rejected. The car must be registered and insured and have a valid inspection sticker. Directional and brake lights must also be functional. No dashboard lights can be lit up too.
How experienced are your instructors?
Our two instructors combined have several decades of experience and have successfully trained several thousand teenagers.
Do you come to our house for the lesson?
Yes. We usually pick up and drop off at the student's house. Occasionally we pick up at or close to the high school if the lesson is starting right after school ends.
Do you offer weekend lessons?
Yes. We do offer weekend lessons but they usually fill up very quickly based on availability.
How long is each driving lesson?
Each driving lesson is usually 2 hours in length of time.
Do you offer additional lessons after the 6 hours if the parents want more lessons?
Absolutely.

Can I start my lessons before I turn 16 years of age?
No. However, you can contact us in advance of the 16th birthday in order to register for the lessons.
Do you offer weekend lessons?
Every website has a story, and your visitors want to hear yours. This space is a great opportunity to give a full background on who you are, what your team does and what your site has to offer.
Can I take my son or daughter to the dmv and process the permit on my own?
No. Only a licensed driving school can process a permit for a 16 year old student.
Is your driving school licensed by the state and properly insured?
Yes. We are fully and officially licensed, insured and bonded.
What if my 16 year old son or daughter needs to take the written test?
Most public high schools offer driver's education and the written test. If your child needs to take the written test on their own; we can help you. After we process the permit at the dmv we can schedule a written test appointment at the dmv. A parent cannot bring their own child to take the test at the dmv. The fee for this service is $60 per written test attempt.
What happens if I lose my permit?
If you lose your permit we do not process a replacement for you. So make sure you take good care of the permit. Contact us prior to going to the dmv to process your new permit. We will explain to you which dmv to go to and what documentation you will need to bring.
